US annual inflation rate at lowest level since 2021 - statistics

WASHINGTON, June 13 (KUNA) - The US annual inflation is now at the lowest level since March 2021, and less than half of what it was last June, said government statistics.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers increased 0.1 percent, seasonally adjusted, and rose 4.0 percent over the last 12 months, not seasonally adjusted. The index for all items less food and energy increased 0.4 percent in May, up 5.3 percent over the year (NSA), it added.
A White House statement also noted that US President touched on the continued progress-tackling inflation at the same time that unemployment remains at historic lows. (end) rsr.aa.
