Fourth Turkiye-Africa Business, Economic Forum launched in Istanbul

ISTANBUL, Oct 12 (KUNA) -- The Tأ¼rkiye-Africa Business and Economic Forum kick-started Thursday in the Turkish city of Istanbul.

During the opening speech, Chairman of the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Tأ¼rkiye (DEIK) Nail Olpak said that the forum is set to hold meetings, agreements and establish new bridges of collaboration between Turkiye and Africa.
Olpak said important steps will be taken to reach the bilateral trade goal of USD 50 billion and USD 75 billion between Turkiye and Africa, noting his country's desire to increase cooperation with African countries on a "win-win" principle, especially in the fields of transportation, energy and health.
On her part, Comoros Health Minister Loub Yakout Zaidou indicated that the forum would contribute to strengthening relations between TurkIye and African countries, noting the need to establish partnerships on a "win-win" principle in several fields including health, economy and security.
In turn, Vice President of Pan-African Chamber of Commerce and Industry in South Africa (PACCI) Chabuka Kawesha said that Turkiye pays great attention to the region in the areas of transport and communications, but this interest must have greater planning.
He explained that Turkish companies carried out important projects in Tanzania and Zambia, stressing the importance of Turkish and African companies cooperating in research and development together.
The forum has been jointly organized by the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkiye, the African Union, and the Turkish Trade Ministry. (end) ta.seo.
